Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS) Empowered Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI): A Paradigm Shift in Supply Chain Efficiency

Abstract:

This talk is about an innovative approach to enhancing Vendor-Managed Inventory, or VMI, through Blockchain-as-a-Service,     commonly known as BaaS. VMI is a collaborative model where vendors take the responsibility of managing their customers' inventory.     However, traditional VMI methods often struggle with data sharing, integration, real-time access, security, and enforcing service agreements. The session discusses how integrating BaaS with VMI can address these challenges. By leveraging the unique advantages of blockchain technology, we can achieve trustless collaboration, real-time data access, heightened security, and data integrity.     Additionally, BaaS allows for automation through smart contracts, making supply chain processes more efficient.

I will highlight how BaaS platforms facilitate easy setup, streamline member onboarding, and integrate seamlessly with existing  systems, ultimately enhancing collaboration among VMI stakeholders. Furthermore, I’ll present a conceptual model that outlines an  end-to-end VMI solution incorporating these advancements. This discussion aims to provide insights into how we can revolutionize traditional VMI models by utilizing BaaS, paving the way for a     more efficient and optimized supply chain performance.
