In the rapidly evolving landscape of data-driven decision-making, the role of data professionals is expanding beyond traditional analysis to encompass strategic influence and actionable insights. This presentation explores the transition from Data Scientist to Decision Scientist, emphasizing the critical skills and mindset required to bridge the gap between data insights and tangible business impact. Drawing from my experience as a Data Science Manager at Meta, I present a real-world case study that illustrates this transformation. The case study highlights the challenges and successes encountered in leveraging data to drive strategic decisions, demonstrating the importance of effective communication, cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of business objectives. By examining this journey, the presentation provides valuable insights and practical guidance for data professionals aspiring to enhance their impact within organizations.
