Zero Downtime, Maximum Impact: AI Infrastructure for Crisis-Ready Healthcare Clouds

Abstract:

The COVID-19 pandemic served as a wake-up call for healthcare systems worldwide. Behind every ICU alert, telehealth session, or triage dashboard lies a cloud infrastructure that must remain responsive, secure, and resilient under extreme stress. However, during a crisis, traditional disaster recovery strategies are often too slow, manual, and ineffective.

This keynote examines how to architect AI-powered, self-adaptive cloud infrastructure to enable healthcare systems to stay ahead of disruptions. Drawing from real-world experience designing resilient control planes and self-healing provisioning systems, we’ll examine how concepts like automated failover, telemetry-informed orchestration, and intelligent scaling can be applied to protect critical health services when they’re needed most.

This is not just about keeping systems online; it's about ensuring that they are secure and reliable. It’s about building infrastructure that prioritizes human life. We’ll look at how AI models can forecast regional demand surges, how cloud platforms can shift workloads dynamically without downtime, and how telemetry feedback can detect early signs of failure in life-critical systems.

In a world where seconds matter, cloud infrastructure must think, adapt, and respond as fast as the crisis itself. This talk offers a practical blueprint for building healthcare clouds that anticipate and recover, not just survive.

Isan Sahoo is a Principal Member of Technical Staff with deep expertise in building resilient, large-scale cloud infrastructure. His work focuses on designing self-healing control planes, intelligent provisioning systems, and AI-driven automation frameworks that support mission-critical workloads across global data centers. He has led the development of backend systems that significantly reduce provisioning time, enable zero-downtime migrations, and proactively respond to failures using real-time telemetry and predictive logic.

An IEEE Senior Member, Isan is also a regular contributor to the research and professional community. He serves as a peer reviewer and technical committee member for several international conferences. His keynote sessions explore the intersection of cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and systems resilience, offering practical insights from real-world engineering experience.
