Talk Title:

Traffic-Aware Autoscaling for High-Volume Enterprise Microservices Using KEDA and Observability Metrics

Abstract:

The presentation will focus on practical approaches for scaling high-volume cloud-native microservices using workload- and traffic-based metrics, KEDA, observability data, performance testing, and production reliability considerations. It will also cover the limitations of traditional CPU- and memory-based autoscaling and how traffic-aware scaling can improve resource efficiency while maintaining platform reliability.

The presentation will be based on generalized technical patterns and will not disclose any confidential or proprietary information.

Profile:

Chandramouli Holigi is a Senior Software Engineer with over 18 years of global experience in designing, building, and supporting scalable enterprise applications and cloud-native platforms. He specializes in Java and Spring Boot-based microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems, with expertise in Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, and Azure cloud services.

Currently at General Motors in Austin, Texas, Chandramouli architects and develops high-performance microservices deployed on Azure Kubernetes Service, supporting high-volume API workloads under strict latency requirements. His experience includes event-driven workflows with Kafka, distributed caching with Azure Redis, API security using OAuth 2.0 and JWT, GitOps-based deployments with Argo CD, and observability using Datadog. He has also worked extensively on JVM performance tuning, production reliability, and incident root-cause analysis for mission-critical systems.

Previously, Chandramouli held senior engineering roles at HCL Global Systems and Yasmesoft Inc., focusing on microservices development, legacy modernization, CI/CD, caching strategies, and production stability. Earlier, he served as a Project Lead at Tech Mahindra and as a Senior Integration Consultant at Hitachi Software Global Technology, working on large-scale enterprise integration projects across Telecom and BFSI domains in India and the UAE.

Chandramouli holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from G. Pulla Reddy Engineering College in India.
