Talk Title:
Towards Objective Diagnosis in Healthcare utilizing Machine Learning and Deep Learning
Abstract: The rapid growth of healthcare data ranging from medical imaging, biomedical signals, electronic health records and other digital health technologies has created significant opportunities for Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support clinical decision-making. However, transforming voluminous, complex and heterogeneous healthcare data into reliable insights is highly demanding till date. Though machine learning techniques are incorporated to offer objective diagnosis, deep learning plays a crucial role in handling high-dimensional biomedical images. The proposed talk explores the evolving role of AI and data-driven computing in intelligent healthcare emphasizing on machine learning, deep learning, biomedical signal and image analysis, and soft computing techniques. The talk will also discuss how AI models can learn meaningful patterns from high-dimensional biomedical data and aids in screening, diagnosis and prognosis of diseases in addition to treatment. Selected research experiences involving neuroimaging and AI-based healthcare applications will be used to illustrate the opportunities and challenges associated with developing intelligent systems for real-world medical settings.
