Deepak Babu Piskala is a Principal Scientist and AI leader with 18 years of AI experience across search, computational advertising, and voice assistants. At Amazon Alexa he pioneered self-healing ASR and multimodal language models that rewrite queries on the fly; at Amazon Ads he shipped context-aware ad ranking that powers billions of impressions daily. His R&D spans NLP, IR and Speech including LLM routing, RAG, Agentic architectures, and Multimodality. He holds 10+ patents and papers at leading AI conferences. He is an IEEE Senior Member and active reviewer for NeurIPS, ICML, EMNLP, KDD, and AMLC. A Gold-medalist and University Rank-holder, he earned a B.E. in Electrical & Electronics from VTU, an M.S. in Software Systems from BITS Pilani, and studied Reinforcement Learning at IISc under Prof. Shalabh Bhatnagar.
