Computational Intelligence Approaches for Intelligent Decision Support Systems in Healthcare
Abstract:
Healthcare organizations operate in highly complex environments where timely, accurate decisions directly impact patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Traditional rule-based systems and siloed analytics are no longer sufficient to support modern clinical and operational workflows. This invited talk explores how computational intelligence techniques combined with cloud-native architectures and real-time data integration enables intelligent decision support systems at healthcare enterprise scale. Drawing from large-scale healthcare deployments, the session highlights the use of machine learning, event-driven data pipelines, and semantic interoperability layers to transform fragmented clinical and operational data into actionable insights. The talk examines architectural patterns that support predictive decisioning while maintaining explainability, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations. Attendees will gain practical insights into building scalable, trustworthy decision support systems that improve care coordination, accelerate workflows, and support data-driven decision-making across distributed healthcare environments.
