SECURITY OF SAP SYSTEMS IN AZURE: ENHANCING SECURITY POSTURE OF SAP WORKLOADS ON AZURE – A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF AZURENATIVE TOOLS AND PRACTICES
Abstract:
Enterprise SAP workloads protection in the cloud environment have gained even more importance as the rate of digital transformation increases in industries. As Microsoft Azure has become an attractive platform to run SAP, there is a need to learn how this platform offers security to important business information. The given paper provides an overview of the security posture benchmarking measures to SAP systems hosted in Azure, in particular, the consideration of Azure-native integration tools including Microsoft Defender Cloud, Azure Sentinel, and Azure Policy. By reviewing the literature, real-world adoption cases, and comparing the available information with those of other cloud providers, the study will examine the way, in which Azure ensures compliance, threat prevention, and allows to implement secure identity and access management of SAP environments. Some other quantitative findings of the research include understanding the efficiency of threat detection, pre and post-implementation of Azure metrics, and best practices of implementation. Through the macro-integration of technological insights and architectural trends, the paper provides the contribution of Azure zero-trust security model in providing the robustness of the SAP infrastructure. The results support the idea of using platform-native innovations, which can be used to minimize attack surfaces, realize regulatory compliance and maintain enterprise-wide confidence in the cloud-hosted ERP systems
