Mission-critical enterprise environments demand continuous availability, making traditional Oracle database upgrades and patching a significant operational challenge. This keynote presents a production-proven framework that solves this problem by achieving near-zero downtime. The methodology, validated across over 5,000 databases and 40+ key applications, seamlessly integrates Oracle’s DBMS_ROLLING with Transient Logical Standby for upgrades and leverages Ansible for robust, automated Grid Infrastructure patching. I will discuss how this framework delivers a scalable, resilient, and fully automated solution, yielding over $100 million in annual cost savings and safeguarding significant revenue streams. The talk will cover the technical approach, real-world performance metrics, and the strategic business continuity benefits of this transformative framework.
