AI-Enhanced Cloud-Native Security: Threat Detection in Real-Time Kubernetes Environments"

Abstract:

As cloud-native architectures become the backbone of modern digital infrastructure, Kubernetes has emerged as the de facto standard for orchestrating containerized applications. However, its dynamic and distributed nature introduces complex security challenges that traditional defense mechanisms struggle to address. This keynote explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence (Al) into cloud-native security frameworks, focusing on real-time threat detection within Kubernetes environments. By leveraging machine learning, anomaly detection, and behavioral analytics, Al-enhanced systems can identify and respond to threats with unprecedented speed and accuracy. The session highlights key threat vectors in Kubernetes, such as misconfigurations, lateral movement, and supply chain attacks, and demonstrates how Al-driven tools can mitigate these risks. Real-world use cases, current research trends, and future directions are discussed to illustrate the transformative potential of Al in building resilient, self-defending cloud-native ecosystems.

Profile:

Hirenkumar Mistry is a seasoned DevOps and Systems Engineer with extensive experience in managing and supporting complex IT infrastructures across cloud and on-premises environments. He brings over a decade of hands-on expertise in Kubernetes (D2iQ, EKS), OpenStack, AWS, VMware, RedHat Virtualization, and Nutanix Hypervisors. Hirenkumar has a strong command of Linux system administration (RHEL/Ubuntu), infrastructure automation using Ansible, Puppet, and Chef, as well as CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Maven, and Docker.

He has successfully deployed and maintained microservices architectures, configured scalable Kubernetes clusters, and automated containerized deployments. His core competencies also include managing cloud resources on AWS (EC2, IAM, Route53, S3FS), configuring DNS, Sendmail, Zimbra, web and database servers, and securing networks with UTM firewalls and IDS/IPS systems like SNORT.

With additional expertise in monitoring (Nagios, Zabbix), scripting (Shell, Python), and troubleshooting Linux-based environments, Hirenkumar consistently ensures high system availability and performance aligned with SLAs. He is also proficient in managing Asterisk IVR systems, Zimbra mail servers, LDAP, JBOSS, Tomcat, and MySQL databases.
