In today’s competitive retail environment, even small businesses need data-driven strategies to thrive. In this talk, I will share my experience as a Data Analyst working with a small retail business to uncover meaningful insights from their everyday sales and customer data.
Using simple yet effective tools like Excel, Python, and Power BI, I led an end-to-end project that involved cleaning and integrating messy spreadsheets, analyzing product and customer trends, and building a user-friendly dashboard for ongoing decision support. Through this process, we discovered which products truly drove revenue, how repeat customers impacted profitability, and what seasonal trends shaped our performance.
The session will highlight practical techniques for working with limited data resources, key metrics that matter in small business analytics, and how storytelling with data helped influence strategic decisions.
