Intelligent Telemetry: Scaling Trace Ingestion and Inference with AI Models
Abstract:
As microservices grow in complexity, engineering teams on Google Cloud need scalable, intelligent tracing systems that go beyond simple dashboards. This talk explores how to architect high-performance trace ingestion and processing workflows using GCP’s native tools like Cloud Trace, Cloud Logging, and Pub/Sub, while augmenting them with AI-driven prioritization and noise reduction. We’ll also show how Docker-based workloads running on GKE or Cloud Run can emit structured telemetry via OpenTelemetry agents, enabling consistent observability across environments. Lightweight ML models are then used to detect anomalies, rank spans by risk, and surface causal chains in real time. Drawing on production-scale patterns and observability frameworks, this session helps developers modernize their tracing architecture, reduce telemetry costs, and make debugging faster and smarter.
