Redefining Cybersecurity in the Age of AI: From Reactive Defense to Intelligent Threat Prediction

Abstract:

In today’s hyper-connected digital landscape, traditional cybersecurity approaches are no longer sufficient to counter increasingly sophisticated and fast-evolving threats. This keynote explores how artificial intelligence and machine learning — particularly deep learning, transformer models, and large language models (LLMs) — are reshaping the way we think about cyber defense. Rather than reacting to known attack patterns, modern AI-driven systems enable proactive detection, real-time anomaly analysis, and predictive threat modeling. We will delve into how AI is being used to automate phishing detection, malware classification, intrusion detection, and fraud prevention at scale. The session will also highlight recent advances such as graph neural networks for threat correlation, reinforcement learning for autonomous defense, and the integration of LLMs in real-time security operations. While AI introduces powerful capabilities, it also raises new risks, including adversarial attacks and AI-powered cyber threats — challenges that we must address with equal urgency. By the end of this talk, participants will gain insight into the future of cybersecurity powered by intelligent systems, the ongoing shift from rule-based defenses to adaptive, data-driven protection, and the ethical and practical implications of deploying AI at the core of cyber defense infrastructures.
