Leveraging Machine Learning to Enhance Accuracy and Efficiency in Regulatory Compliance
Abstract:
In this article, I discuss the ways in which technology has been used to design, implement, and maintain an automated reporting solution for swap transactions covered under the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) and the Dodd-Frank Act (DFA) Rule 12b-2. The proposed automated reporting framework leverages advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to enhance regulatory reporting accuracy, exception management, and compliance across EMIR, DFA, and global regulatory regimes. The solution is designed to minimize manual processing while maximizing data quality, accuracy, and transparency by standardizing data collection and submission into a single, unified format. By combining advanced analytics with real-time monitoring, organizations can achieve more timely swap reporting, improve regulatory compliance, reduce the risk of violations and associated penalties, and enhance overall market efficiency and organizational reputation
