Architecting Resilient Global Network Infrastructure: Lessons from the Move Off Corp Modernization Program using generative AI

Abstract of talk:

Move off Corp (MoC) is a multi-year mandate (both a 2024 OLT and LT Goal) to remove Amazon’s CORP network security, availability, and scalability risks from all future and current Operations (Ops) buildings (First, Middle, and Last Mile Fulfillment and Transportation). MoC solutions will follow a zero-trust security model and bias toward native AWS (NAWS) architecture when possible.
The MoC program aims to transition Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FCs) from the CORP network to the MoC network. This migration is happening in two ways. First, new FCs (Greenfield sites) are being launched directly on the MoC network. Second, existing FCs (Brownfield sites) are being gradually migrated over to MoC network in three phases to minimize operational disruptions. Solutions Off CORP Phase 1 (SOC P1) involves migrating thin clients and handheld scanners to off-CORP systems without compromising security. Solutions Off CORP Phase 2 (SOC P2) shifts hardware systems aka Material Handling Equipment (MHE) like Sorters, Auto Pack machines, etc. to the MoC network. Finally, MoC Phase 3 (MoC P3) cuts all CORP dependencies and completes the migrations of Ops building to the MoC network.
