Mr. Bikash Agarwal
AI/ML-Driven Cybersecurity in Telecom Through Protocol Innovation
Abstract:
In today’s hyper-connected world, the convergence of legacy telecom infrastructure with next generation 4G/5G networks presents both a technical challenge and a cybersecurity imperative. Traditional SS7 signaling, while foundational, is increasingly recognized as a major vulnerability—unsecured, costly, and incompatible with modern cloud-native architectures. This keynote explores a transformative shift led by Mr. Bikash Agarwal, whose patented innovations (US 10,326,804 B1 - US 10,708,433 B1) have replaced SS7 signaling with secure, encrypted HTTP REST interfaces, now fully implemented at all the big telecom operators around the world.
Beyond protocol modernization, this session highlights how AI/ML technologies can amplify the impact of these innovations. REST-based signaling enables structured, machine-readable data flows that are ideal for anomaly detection, predictive threat modeling, and automated incident response. By eliminating legacy stacks and embracing AI-driven cybersecurity, telecom networks can achieve unprecedented levels of efficiency, resilience, and future-readiness.
Attendees will gain insights into:
• The technical and strategic rationale behind SS7 sunset initiatives
• Real-world implementation outcomes at T-Mobile, including cost savings and latency improvements
• How AI/ML integrates with REST signaling to create intelligent, self-defending networks
• The broader implications for telecom design, development, and cybersecurity posture
Mr. Agarwal’s work represents a paradigm shift—ushering in a new era where secure, AI-enhanced signaling protocols redefine how networks communicate and protect themselves.
