Bridging Design and Development: Automating Code Generation with Generative AI.
Abstract:
The traditional software development lifecycle faces a persistent challenge: the disconnect between design and development phases leads to extended timelines, miscommunication, and reduced productivity. This presentation introduces an innovative generative AI-powered platform that transforms UI/UX designs and natural language requirements directly into production-ready code.
Leveraging large language models (LLMs) including GPT-4o and Code Llama, the platform integrates five core components: design input parsing, intelligent prompt engineering, AI-driven code generation, automated validation, and seamless deployment packaging. Through a modular architecture, the system accepts inputs from design tools like Figma and Adobe XD, converting them into executable React, Angular, or Vue components while maintaining high design fidelity.
Real-world evaluations demonstrate compelling results: development time reduced by 70-85%, code generation accuracy exceeding 90%, and design fidelity reaching 94%. Two case studies automated web form generation and full-stack dashboard scaffolding illustrate the platform's practical impact on modern development workflows.
This presentation explores the technical architecture, procedural framework, empirical results, and practical implications of AI-assisted development. We discuss how such platforms can serve as "co-developers," enabling faster prototyping, improved designer-developer collaboration, and standardized code output. Additionally, we address current limitations including prompt sensitivity and semantic drift, along with future directions such as multimodal inputs, reinforcement learning integration, and bidirectional code-to-design workflows.
The findings demonstrate that generative AI is poised to fundamentally transform how software is designed, developed, and deployed—shifting from manual coding to intelligent, design-driven automation.
